Fair question, and the honest answer depends on what's moving, not on a slogan. Here's how to size a crew for a Canberra move, grounded in five years of our own quote data, and where a smaller or bigger option genuinely serves you better.
Canberra moves are smaller than the brochures assume
The removals industry advertises four-bedroom family relocations. Canberra's reality, from more than 1,100 quote requests to us since 2021: seven in ten moves that told us their size were for homes of two bedrooms or fewer, and almost four in ten were studios or one-bedroom homes. Apartments are the single most common home type we're asked to quote (more than houses), and 45% of local moves stay inside the same district.

When one person and a van is genuinely enough
Honestly: sometimes. If everything you own fits in a small van, nothing needs two lifters, and you're happy carrying half of it yourself, a van operator is a reasonable tool. Answer three questions. Volume: would it fit in a van, or does it need a truck? Weight: is there any single item you couldn't shift across a room with one other person?
